about
Since the release of Paco Sala's debut, "Radial Sundown," some things have changed. Most notably, founder Antony Harrison (Konntinent, etc) has been joined by vocalist Leyli to scan the starlit skies. "Gifts of the Bloom" is the first single off the duo's first proper LP, "Ro-me-ro," out this Spring on Digitalis. Harrison's squashed, minimal production is the ideal backdrop for Leyli's lilting voice. With vocal melodies that hover like an unseen object trying to avoid the intricate patterns Harrison weaves with various keyboard loops. The delicate balance is never upset, though, and eventually the melody is stuck firmly in your head.
"Gold Zone" is a non-album instrumental piece that stretches out like a smooth glass road leading into a vapor cloud. As the track slows down into a faded oblivion, it's time to take another ride.
